I once heard someone say,
“A woman’s hair
is the frame to her face.”
For a while I was confused
and in her eyes searched for clues.
Another day I heard her say,
“A woman is a flower,
in a relationship she must have water.”
Those two quotes have stayed in my mind
and come to me from time to time.
So many flowers along the way,
so many paintings with nothing to say.
Until one day, walking down a hall,
I saw the sunflowers of Vincent Van Gogh.
That’s when I understood
what my aunt had said.
A woman is a work of art,
and the beholder is the one that’s blessed.
